Dr. Efstratios Tzirtzilakis is serving as a full Professor at the
Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of the Peloponnese, Greece. He
is also Vice Rector for Finance and Electronic Governance of UoP. He has also served as head of the Mechanical
Engineering Department during the academic years 2019-2021. He has a degree
in Mathematics, an MSc in Applied Mathematics, and a PhD in Biomagnetic Fluid
Dynamics (BFD). His research field lies in Computational Fluid Mechanics and
especially BFD, ferrofluid and MagnetoHydroDynamic
flows. He has published in mathematical formulation of BFD flow problems,
numerical methods for the solution of fluid mechanics problems, internal and
boundary layer flows, analytic solutions and generally, in the research area
of applied mathematics. He is author or co-author of more than 58 papers
in international refereed journals with more than 1400 references from other
researchers. He is referee for more than 45 international journals and
reviewer of the American Mathematical Society. He is also member of the
Editorial Board of the “Mathematical
Problems in Engineering” (JSR IF 1.430) and “Mathematics” (JSR IF
2.592) International Journals. He has
given lectures in several conferences and has been
invited to give a lecture at the University of Cambridge. He is an expert in
BFD flows and two of his publications were selected for the “Virtual Journal
of Biological Physics Research”, where the papers published are reviewed for
second time by a different editor and considered to constitute frontier
research. He has also included three times in the database «Data for Updated
science–wide author databases of standardized citation indicators», which
includes the top 2% of the researchers worldwide with respect the number of
citations in a specific area of research. For the years 2020 and 2021 in the
research area “Mechanical Engineering & Transports, Applied Mathematics,
Mathematics & Statistics” and in 2022 in the area “Mechanical Engineering
& Transports, Engineering, Fluids & Plasmas”. In the past he has
received scholarships from the Greek State Scholarship Foundation during his
graduate and post-doctoral studies. |
